Alert issued after assault attempt in S. Lawndale

Chicago police have issued a community alert after two men tried to sexually assault a woman in the South Lawndale neighborhood.

It happened last night in the 2400 block of South Homan Avenue.

Police say the two men grabbed the 20-year-old woman from behind, dragged her to an alley and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman managed to get away.

The suspects are both Hispanic with light complexions between 5'4" and 5'7" and were both wearing black hooded sweaters.
