Final public hearing on CPS school closings | Board will vote May 22

The Chicago Board Of Education is expected to vote May 22 on the plan to close more than 50 public schools.

The last of the public hearings on the proposal took place Thursday night.

Parents say the closings will disrupt the lives of their children and put some in danger when they cross gang territories.

CPS says enrollment is down and the closings will save $600 million over the next 10 years.
