Xavier Guzman, 25, is charged with aggravated battery with a handgun and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Chicago police say he opened fire early Monday morning in the 1600-block of S. California, wounding a 21-year old man he did not know.
He was arrested after he tossed a gun out his window and then crashed his SUV.
