November 7, 2013 (CHICAGO)

It was just after 12 a.m. Wednesday when the fire broke out in the 1200-block of South Michigan.

Investigators say a 21-year-old man caused a small explosion while he was using an open flame with marijuana and grain alcohol.

He's charged with possession of cannabis and criminal damage to property.

Police say they found about $30,000 worth of marijuana in the apartment.
