After being trapped in ice at sea for more than two weeks, a group of sailors are finally back on dry land. The Russian research ship arrived at a port in New Zealand on Wednesday.

It got stuck in thick Antarctic ice on Christmas Eve.

A helicopter rescued 52 passengers, but 22 crew members stayed on board until it was able to break free a week ago.

The journey started in late November, trying to recreate a voyage made by an Australian explorer 100 years ago.
