Charli was born in Haiti, but a prosthetics company in Virginia has agreed to treat him free of charge.
Prosthetists at Virginia Prosthetics say Charli is making exceptional progress, and has exceeded all of their expectations so far, according to ABC News.
Charli's host family is just hoping to get the boy to stand upright and trust his legs, for now.
"It's going to be a marathon, not a sprint," prosthetetist Doug Smiley said.
