Michael Blodgett has family in Batavia and Oswego and graduated from Batavia High School.
His family says the 35-year-old and his wife, and 3-year-old daughter have lived in Osaka for the last five years where he teaches English. Blodgett had gone camping on March 23 near Dorogawa and was supposed to return on March 26, but he never made it back.
Search and rescue teams are looking for him.
