Police search for fugitive at downtown hotel

A Chicago hotel was put on lockdown while police searched for a fugitive.Heavily armed local and federal law enforcement officers searched for a man named Justin Ray Sparlin at the Congress Plaza and Convention Center on South Michigan Avenue. They were trying to serve the Ottawa, Illinois man a warrant.

Sparlin is wanted for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Police and Secret Service agents suspected Sparlin was armed and holed up in a 12th floor room of the hotel. Officers reportedly got into his room, but they found it empty. They searched the hotel floor by floor but could not find him.
