State may make offer on Wrigley Field

The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority appears to be ready to make an offer to buy Wrigley Field. Former Governor Jim Thompson -- who heads the stadium authority -- says an offer could come next week.

The agency is crunching the numbers to see if there is enough money to modernize and restore the stadium. Thompson says if there is not enough money available, there won't be an offer.

The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority already owns and operates U.S. Cellular Field.
