Nineteen-year-old Charles Peden of Maywood was arrested Thursday and bond was set at $15,000.
The alleged attack took place at a motel where the Wright team was staying while they took part in a tournament at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. Prosecutors say the 18-year-old victim and her friends met Peden and other team members at the motel. They were drinking before the incident.
The school said Friday they are deeply concerned by the charges. An assistant coach who was with some players as they were drinking that night has been dismissed.
