L.L. Bean opens store in Chicagoland

An outdoor retailer from Maine opens its first store in the Chicago area. L.L. Bean opened its doors Friday morning at the new Arboretum of South Barrington shopping center.

The first 500 customers in line received gift cards with a value that is between $25 and $500.

It is the first L.L. Bean store in Illinois.

The store will be open 24 hours during its grand opening weekend.

The company plans to open a second store in Skokie in November.
