Teen dies in South Side shooting

CHICAGO Andre Malcolm was leaving a party near 105th and South Normal Avenue in the Roseland neighborhood, less than one block away from his home. Police say he became involved in an altercation with another person and was shot in the chest.

Malcolm was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the shooter fled on foot.

Malcolm's family says he was starting his senior year at Percy high school. A neighbor described him as 'beautiful and intelligent.'

Police had not made any arrests Saturday evening.
