'ChicagoingCares' looked at three organizations -- Boys Hope Girls Hope, Chicago United and Lotus Blossom Consulting. For the past twenty eight years, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Illinois has offered scholarships to Chicago area children who are academically capable ? all of whom come from families deeply troubled by poverty, homelessness, gang or domestic violence, drug use and other seemingly insurmountable challenges. It offers a way for children to break free ? an opportunity for Scholars to lift themselves, and by extension their families, out of the vicious cycle in which they are trapped. This marks Chicago United's 40th year as the catalyst driving business leaders to maximize economic impact for all races.
