Daley Plaza's tree ushers in holiday spirit

CHICAGO Actress Keri Russell helped Chicago's Mayor Richard M. Daley flip the switch.

The 80-foot tree is adorned with 9,000 red, green and white energy-saving LED light bulbs.

The ceremony normally takes place the day after Thanksgiving, but budget constraints led the city to postpone the event until Tuesday. City workers were forced to take the day after Thanksgiving off.

The lights were still on over the weekend.
