Cranberry Cookies

"I got this receipe from my mother who used to make them every Christmas," she said. "They are OUTSTANDING. You will never taste such a FANTASTIC delicious cookie. It's a gourmet cookie with a nice crisp taste. How you can tell they are done, the bottoms of the cookie are lightly golden brown. People that do not like cranberries love this cookie."

1 Stick & 2 Tablespoons of Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Milk
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
Mix all of the above in one large bowl.

In another bowl, Mix:
3 Cups Flour
1/4 Cup Ground Walnuts
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda.
Combine and mix. Then add:
2 1/2 cups of fresh round cranberries. (Cut them in 1/2) and then put them in the measuring cup.
1 Cup Choppped Walnuts
Spray cookie sheet with pan or crisco. Bake 350 degrees for 16 to 18 minutes till the bottom of the cookies are lightly brown.
Tablespoon size balls.

If you don't want to make the cookies that day, you can shape them and freeze them in the freezer for 15 minutes. Then put them in a zip lock freezer bag. When you are ready to make them, you can just thaw them out the day before on a cookie sheet, and bake the next day right away.
