Residents evacuated after train derailment

Several freight cars of a CSX train derailed in the small town of Grant Park, which is about 50 miles south of Chicago.

No one was hurt in the derailment.

Police briefly evacuated some nearby residents to a local high school as a precaution after the derailment caused more than a thousand gallons of alcohol and used motor oil to leak.

"About 20 cars are off the track. Most of the cars were piled up pretty high and tore open," said Chief Richard Schronts, Grant Park Fire Protection District.

Crews are now working to clear the derailed cars and repair the damaged tracks.

It's unclear exactly what may have caused the trains to jump the tracks.
