Blagojevich associate indicted

February 5, 2009 (CHICAGO) Chris Kelly and his company are accused of paying at least $450,000 in kickbacks to a consultant. It was allegedly part of a scheme to fraudulently obtain $8.5 million in inflated contracts for projects.

Prosecutors say the projects dealt with two major airlines at O'Hare International Airport.

Kelly is the president and owner of BCI Commercial Roofing and was the chief fundraiser in Rod Blagojevich's two campaigns for governor.

Last month, Kelly pleaded guilty in a federal tax case.
