New concern over DTV switch

February 6, 2009 The switch to digital TV broadcasting will be put off until June 12 as soon as President Obama signs a bill passed by Congress.

But the Consumer Electronics Administration says retailers may run out of the converter boxes for people with older analog TV sets that are not connected to cable or a satellite.

Manufacturers stopped making them last month when the transition date was February 17.

New boxes should be on store shelves by April.
