Gas tax hike may be coming
February 12, 2009 John Cullerton, the new state Senate president, says higher gasoline taxes may be the best way to pay for repairs to roads and bridges and create jobs.
He says raising the gas tax makes more sense than earlier proposals, which included having new casinos pay for the work.
