On Monday night, a woman was walking along East 59th Street when a man approached her from behind. The offender hit her, pushed her to the ground and tried to take off her pants, but the victim fought him off.
Police have a few words for the attacker.
"Citizens are being victimized out here -- and we want to send a message that this will not be tolerated out here in this community," said Sgt. Christi Ford, Chicago Police Department.
Police are asking people to call them if they have information about this crime.
