Kentucky Derby recipe: BBQ Shrimp

From Levy Restaurants Chefs at Arlington Park, Churchill Downs and the Kentucky DerbyIngredients
  • 13-15 Shrimp Peeled and De-veined
  • 4 oz BBQ Spice (see recipe below)
  • 2 oz butter
  • 1 lemon, cut in half and grilled
  • 2 Parsley sprigs
  • Directions

    Over medium heat melt your butter. Lightly toss the shrimp in the BBQ spices and place in the melted butter and cook until done through, approximately 4-5 minutes. Arrange shrimp on a decorative plate and garnish with grilled lemon and parsley sprigs.

    BBQ Spice

    Ingredients:

  • Paprika 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Kosher Salt 4 tbsp
  • Garlic Powder 2 tbsp
  • Onion Powder 2 tbsp
  • Cumin 1 tbsp
  • Chili Powder 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper 1 tbsp
  • White Pepper 1 tbsp
  • Cayenne Pepper .5 tbsp
  • Cinnamon .5 tsp
  • Thyme .5 tsp
  • Oregano .5 tsp
  • Directions:

    Mix in mixing bowl thoroughly.
