April 30, 2009 (CHICAGO) --A gunman opened fire near an Austin street corner, killing a teenager and wounding two adults. It was just after midnight Thursday on West Chicago at Lorel. Police say the shooter killed 16-year-old Damier Love and wounded two men - one in his 40s, the other in his 50s.
Investigators believe Love was the target of the shooter. No one is in custody.
Love was a student at John Marshall High School. Love is the 34th Chicago Public Schools student to be killed because of violence this school year.
