Sox players give healthy snacks to kids

June 5, 2009 (CHICAGO) Sox pitchers Clayton Richard and Scott Linebrink joined infielder Chris Getz and members of the team's Volunteer Corps at the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

White Sox great Bill Melton also lent a hand.

Players and fans packed bags of healthy snacks for students at 35 Chicago Public Schools.

Several more volunteer events are also planned for Sox fans and teammates.

The volunteers corps was created in response to Pres. Barack Obama's call for increasing community service.
