Cost of Bears game tailgating goes up

June 22, 2009 (CHICAGO) The cost of parking at some 4,000 spots near Soldier Field will spike nearly 50 percent for Bears games this fall.

The McCormick Place Lakeside center lot and another at 31st and South Moe drive will now cost $25, up from $17 last season.

RV drivers must pay $50, up from $34.

The Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority, which controls the lots, says the steep increase covers costs such as security, portable toilet facility rental and shuttle buses.
