Man charged in alleged attack on girlfriend

June 29, 2009 (CHICAGO) Albert Parker, 40, is accused of stabbing his live in girlfriend with a branch cutter over the weekend.

Police took Parker into custody Saturday afternoon at his home in the 7000 block of South Clyde on Chicago's South Side.

Police had gone to the home after they were asked to conduct a well-being check on the victim.

Police say they found her seriously injured. The unidentified woman is in serious, but stable condition.

Investigators say parker was on parole for a domestic battery conviction.
