July 6, 2009 (SOUTH BEND, Ind.) --Homicide investigators are working to determine whether a house fire in South Bend that critically burned a 94-year-old woman is linked to a stabbing at a neighboring home over the weekend.Police say emergency workers found both homes near the city's downtown fully engulfed in fire when they arrived about 1:30 a.m. Monday. The elderly woman was trapped inside and rescued by firefighters. She was taken to the burn unit of a Fort Wayne hospital.
Police say the stabbing happened early Sunday, but did not immediately release details of that attack. No other injuries were reported from the fire.
