Hall-of-Famer Teams Up With the Kidney Cancer Association and Shares His Experience with Advanced Kidney Cancer

In response to the increasing incidence of advanced kidney cancer in the United States, Major League Baseball (MLB) Hall-of-Fame pitcher and advanced kidney cancer survivor, Don Sutton, has teamed up with the Evanston, IL based Kidney Cancer Association, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals and Onyx Pharmaceuticals to promote Stay In The Game.Stay In The Game? empowers kidney cancer patients to take a team approach by working closely with their healthcare professionals and loved ones to seek the support and resources necessary to build and stay with a treatment plan.

There are approximately 208,000 people living with kidney cancer worldwide including 37,000 Americans

Each year more than 100,000 people globally, including 13,000 Americans, will die from the disease.

It is estimated that in 2009 there will be 54,400 new cases of kidney cancer in the United States

In Illinois, there are 15,500 new kidney cancer cases a year and 4,300
