Wade donates to Robbins library

A south suburban library on the brink of closing is about to receive a big donation to help keep its doors open a little longer.Robbins native and pro basketball star Dwayne Wade is scheduled to present a check at the town's library Thursday.

Since the library announced it would be closing because of a loss of revenue has received nearly $20,000 in donations to keep it open through the end of the month. About half of that money came from federal aid pushed through by Congressman Bobby Rush.

Like many libraries, the Robbins facility has many after-school recreation and tutoring programs for children.
