Special honor to go on final rides at Kiddieland

October 4, 2009 (MELROSE PARK. Ill.) Lovers of Kiddieland in Melrose Park, Ill. were able to bid to have the honor of being on the very last trip of each ride.

The 27 rides closed down for the final time, one after the other. Each person on the last ride of each attraction got an official certificate. Some were emotional, knowing they'd never be able to do ride again.

At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the merry-go-round was expected to make its last circuit, closing the park forever.
