United tests wireless access

United Airlines adds in-flight Wi-Fi service for passengers.United is testing wireless internet access on flights between New York and California.

More than a dozen of United's 757 jets will be equipped with Wi-Fi by the middle of next month.

Passengers with laptops pay about $13 to use the service. The cost is $8 for handheld devices. United will decide to expand the Wi-Fi service based on customer feedback.
