Servicemen receive warm welcome home

A top secret mission got under way in the western suburbs Sunday afternoon. The Warriors' Watch Riders' assignment was to welcome home Sgt. Jeremy Giacomino after his five years of active duty with the United States Marine Corps. Giacomino was deployed to Iraq twice for a total of 21 months.

"I'm just very appreciative that everybody could come out. It means a lot to me. I'm very fortunate just to be able to come home safely. But to have all these people here to support me, it means the world. I just feel really blessed," Giacomino said.

The real twist on Sunday's 'welcome home' in Lombard was that friends of Giacomino, Army Specialist Sergio Talaver, Navy Corpsman David Creech and U.S. Marine Jerry Hernandez, thought all of the festivities were for Giacomino. However, they were recognized and thanked for their service, as well.
