Seniors protest cutting free rides

October 22, 2009 (CHICAGO) They gathered Thursday at Chicago City Hall.

One woman argued seniors have paid taxes for years and deserve to ride public transit for free. For others, their families are too busy to take them to doctor's appointments and call the free rides a blessing.

There's been talk of ending the free rides to help close CTA's budget gap.

Hendon supports moving money from CTA's capital fund to operations.
