Child porn warrant leads to pot arrests

November 13, 2009 (CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill.) McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren said Kenneth J. Froehler was arrested Wednesday in the 7400-block of Hemlock in Unincorporated Crystal Lake. Nygren said that while executing the arrest warrant on the child porn charges, deputies discovered a large amount of cannabis.

In all, police say 78 pot plants, 6,000 grams of pot, scales and other paraphernalia were seized. Computer equipment was also seized.

Froehler's girlfriend, Cindy M. Dyra, was also arrested.

Sheriff Nygren estimated the street value of the drugs seized to be approximately $27,500.

Froehler, 39, faces charges of unlawful possession of cannabis w/intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful production of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Dyra, 39, faces charges of unlawful possession of cannabis w/intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful production of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer.
