Attorney generals from 38 states are all supporting a challenge to Chicago's ban on handguns.A lawsuit is pending before the U.S. Supreme Court filed by four people who want the city's ban overturned.

Plaintiffs want state and local officials to follow the Supreme Court's 2008 ruling that eliminated Washington D.C.'s handgun ban.

Nebraska's attorney general says he and his colleagues in other states want the high court to protect the constitutional right to bear arms.
