Suspect arrested in Zion fatal shooting

January 8, 2010 (CHICAGO) Joseph Murray, 32, who has recently resided in Zion and Waukegan, was charged with two counts of first degree murder. His bond was set at $3 million.

Murray allegedly murdered Curtis Pride in the 2700-block of Galilee Avenue in Zion in January 1. The motive, according to Zion police, was jealousy over a relationship with a woman.

Police say Murray has an extensive criminal history. He was sentenced to 14 years in jail in 2001 but was paroled from the Illinois Department of Corrections in January, 2009. He went back to prison in April, 2009 after an arrest in Zion, then released again in November, 2009.
