Quinn cancels event hosted by friend of Rezko

January 9, 2010 The Chicago Sun-Times reports Sunday night's Wuinn fundraiser was scheduled for the Northbrook home of lawyer and lobbyist Anthony Abboud. He is tied to Tony Rezko, the former key advisor and main fundraiser for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Abboud, who worked for Quinn when Quinn was state treasurer, has not been charged with any crimes.

However, Rezko's indictment disclosed that after Blagojevich named Abboud to the Teachers Retirement System Board, Rezko told Abboud to take orders from another convicted insider, Stuart Levine.
