Chicago police say they were called to the intersection of east 53rd Street and South Calumet in Chicago's Washington Park neighborhood where they say found a 29-year-old woman lying in a nearby alley.
Police say they arrested Brown as he tried to run from the scene.
The victim is hospitalized in stable condition.
