Abbate is requesting a judge review decisions made by the police board of the City of Chicago and others.
Abbate also wants the police board's ruling of termination reversed.

Abbate was fired after being convicted of beating a female bartender in a Northwest Side tavern in 2007.
On Tuesday he filed a petition for administrative review in Cook County Circuit Court.
