Judge Robert Gettleman sentenced him to 30-days in jail after Trudeau asked supporters to send the federal judge a barrage of e-mails. Judge Gettleman is presiding over a lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission, which says Trudeau's ads for a weight loss book are deceptive.
On Thursday afternoon, a federal appeals panel put a 30-day criminal contempt sentence imposed by Judge Gettleman on hold.
"I really can't give you any comment, very happy to go home and I think after all the smoke is cleared, that I'll be completely vindicated," said Kevin Trudeau, TV pitchman.
The appeals court gave no reason for the stay, but granted it on the condition that Trudeau not do anything to generate more e-mails.
