Prosecutors: Driver in fatal accident used cocaine

February 19, 2010 (CHICAGO) The suspect also admitted to smoking marijuana and buying beer before the crash, according to prosecutors. The victim, Jada Washington, was crossing the street with her aunt at 74th Street and Ashland Avenue on Tuesday night when the two were struck by a van driven by 48-year old Eddie Lumpkin.

Lumpkin is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI and is being held on $500,000 bond.

Lumpkin's attorney says his client was on medication for an injury and was not using the illegal drugs.
