The man is identified as 39-year-old Luis Valdivia-Segoviano. He reportedly was on the side of the road when another vehicle drove by and struck him.
Another person was also critically injured in the crash.
The driver of the car that struck the victims left the scene but later called police. That driver was being questioned, but no charges had been filed Sunday evening.
