Person turns self in after fatal I-55 crash

March 17, 2010 (CHICAGO) The driver of an Infinity SUV lost control on the Stevenson Expressway and crashed near Cicero early Tuesday.

One man died. Two others remain hospitalized.

Witnesses say the driver crawled out of the wreckage and ran away.

Police say the person of interest turned himself in Tuesday. Charges were pending Wednesday.

One person was killed after being ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over on the expressway. Two others, a 15- and 18-year-old remained hospitalized in critical condition.

"Me and my son saw a car caught up in the air over there. It was spinning and landed on its tail. It kept sliding and sparking as it came down," said witness Alfredo Rodriguez.

State police shut down the expressway for nearly five hours as part of their investigation.
