County looking into court clerk's Jeans Day fundraisers

Apr. 22, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Brown told the Chicago Sun-Times Thursday that she was the one who invited the inspector general to investigate.

Brown has scrapped the program of collecting cash from employees in exchange for the privilege of wearing jeans to work.

Brown says the money was used for office picnics and charities.

In January, Brown didn't give a full account of the program, but she said there were 22 scheduled jeans days last year that brought $40,000 in donations.
