Green tea good for eyes

Scientist's believe the beneficial ingredients in green tea penetrate into the tissue of the eye and may help protect against glaucoma and other eye diseases.

Researchers analyzed eye tissue from lab animals that drank green tea and found that the lens, retina, and other tissues absorbed significant amounts of green tea antioxidants believed to protect the eye.

They include vitamin's C and E.

The action of these antioxidants in the study in reducing harmful oxidative stress in the eyes lasted for up to 20 hours.

The findings are in the journal of agricultural and food chemistry.
