FDA expected to OK MS pill

June 10, 2010 The FDA is expected to give the OK to the drug gilenia. It's the first pill for MS.

All current, existing drugs require frequent injections or infusions.

Gilenia is said to be effective at controlling tremors, concentration problems and other symptoms of the debilitating disease. It's also supposed to help reduce relapses of MS, which causes a host of movement and cognitive problems.

When it comes to final approval, the FDA is not required to follow the panels advice though it usually does.
