The first of three public hearings on the Chicago Public Schools budget is Tuesday night. The hearing is at 7 p.m. at Lane Tech High School.

Prior to the hearing, the Chicago Teachers Union will hold a news conference. They are demanding the reinstatement of teachers and paraprofessionals they say were fired without due process.

The proposed $6.4 billion budget had originally called for an increase in high school class sizes, but $100 million in federal money will now help restore lower class sizes.
