August 28, 2010 (CHICAGO) --
Two men riding their bikes across the country to raise money and awareness for child safety issues pedaled into Chicago's Loop Saturday. Behind a police escort, Ed Smart and Ahmad Rivaszfar arrived in Chicago Saturday afternoon. Both have children who were abducted and abused.
Their ride from Rochester, New York to Los Angeles, Calif. will cover 3,500 miles when completed. It will benefit the Surviving Parent Coalition, agroup that calls for greater legal protections for kids and fights to eradicate predatory crimes nationwide.
The cyclists hope to raise $1 million.
