A Chicago Fire Department ambulance was dispatched to North Avenue and Halsted in response to a gunshot victim. An 18-year-old man was shot in the calf.
The shooting apparently happened in front of a Bank of America near that intersection. Police say they don't believe that this was a bank robbery.
The fire department says the person was taken to Northwestern Hospital in serious to critical condition.
