Researchers found that three screening tests during routine office visits had accuracy levels of 80 to 85 percent for determining how stroke patients would fare on an on-road driving test.
Among other things they include asking patients to match roads signs to driving situations.
And scientists reporting in the journal Neurology say that the 15 minute assessment can be easily administered during a routine visit.
Some experts say the tests could be used to help families determine if they want to spend money on the on-road driving tests.
