Missing Chicago son in Japan found

March 18, 2011 (CHICAGO)

She had not heard from him since last week's earthquake and tsunami.

Edward Clemons, who is called Cory by his family, teaches English and has been living near Sendai, the city that was battered by the disaster.

He had not called home since the tragedy and his mother feared the worst when ABC7 spoke with her earlier this week.

On Friday, she received word that her 25-year old son is alive and well, and she got to talk with him on the phone.

"I screamed and I thanked Jesus – that's my – that's my boy," said Clemons' mother Cynthia Young.

Young says arrangements are still being made to bring him home.
